Festetics Castle in Keszthely
(Keszthelyi Festetics-kastély)
The castle, which was continuously built and expanded from the middle of the 18th century, was owned by the Festetics family for 200 years.
Its construction was started by Kristóf Festetics in 1745. During several transformations, it acquired its present form between 1883 and 1887, during the time of Festetics (II.) Tasziló. Its park is a nature reserve.
In the castle park, there is the palm house and the former carriage house that housed the carriage exhibition, and opposite the rear exit of the park, the new building housing the hunting exhibition and the historical model railway exhibition.
